Tactics Institute demands immediate cessation of violence and adherence to international laws in Chad. The recent attack on the headquarters of the National Security Agency (ANSE) in N’Djamena, Chad’s capital, underscores the urgent need for stability and adherence to democratic principles. The recent occurrences in N’Djamena have not only claimed lives but have also sunk Chad into more profound uncertainty. With the internet blackout continuing, information flow within and outside the country is hardly hampered, complicating efforts to gauge the full extent of the unrest. The international community has expressed concern over the stability of Chad, a key player in regional security.

Chad’s political landscape has been marred by escalating tensions, culminating in the tragic death of Yaya Dillo, a prominent critic and opposition figure. The attack on ANSE, allegedly orchestrated by armed assailants targeting the opposition Socialist Party Without Borders (PSF), has led to significant casualties and raised concerns about the innocence of the upcoming presidential elections scheduled for May 6.

Amidst the political turmoil, the nation mourns the loss of Yaya Dillo, whose death in a confrontation with security forces has further inflamed tensions and deepened divisions within the country. The accusations against Dillo for his alleged involvement in the attack on ANSE highlight the complexity of Chad’s political dynamics and the challenges facing the transition to democratic governance.

Tactics Institute condemns the use of violence and intimidation tactics to suppress political dissent in Chad. The government’s accusations against opposition figures, including Dillo and the PSF, must be transparently investigated, and perpetrators of violence must be held accountable under international law.

The attack on ANSE, accompanied by the arrest of numerous individuals and the disruption of internet services, represents a blatant violation of human rights and undermines the democratic process in Chad. The government’s response to the attack, including the imposition of internet restrictions and allegations against opposition groups, further exacerbates tensions and erodes trust in the electoral process.

Tactics Institute calls upon all parties involved to prioritize dialogue and respect for democratic norms, urging the immediate cessation of violence and restoration of stability in Chad. The recent events in Chad pose a grave threat to regional security and stability, necessitating a concerted effort by the international community to sustain peaceful resolution and uphold the principles of democracy and human rights.
