An Arizona man named Baron Martin associated with an online terror network was arrested for making child sexual abuse content and cyberstalking offences perpetrated as part of his participation in online violent terror networks referred to as 764 and CVLT. Baron Martin, 20 years old, also known under the pseudonym “Convict,” has been arrested with substantial involvement in these activities since 2021. Martin allegedly bragged about being a leader within 764 and CVLT and directed victim extortion.
According to US Assistant Attorney General for National Security Matthew G. Olsen,
“764 remains a damaging network of violent extremists who systematically hit children and weaponise child sexual misuse material to promote an accelerationist agenda, beating civilised society, and forcing the destruction of the U.S. Government.”
The Assistant Attorney General stated that the Department of Justice is fully devoted to preventing 764’s terrorist actions and eliminating the 764 network.
Executive Assistant Director Robert Wells of the FBI’s National Security Branch revealed that
“the facts in this case are simply awful as the defendant allegedly forced children to hurt themselves multiple times.”
“The FBI’s mission is to safeguard the American people, and we take that quite seriously when it comes to the young and weak. The FBI will utilise all of our authorities to examine and hold accountable anyone who targets children,”
said Wells.
It has also come to light that since around 2021, “Convict” has emerged as a player in chatrooms linked to the online terror networks 764 and CVLT. Martin confessed to utilising the moniker “Convict” on multiple occasions and on social media platforms declared online to be a manager of 764 and CVLT, leading 764 members on how to exact victims, portraying himself as the “king of extortion,” and bragging he was “the motivation for thousands of extortions” in 764. Martin also assembled and posted on a social media platform a thorough guide on how to recognise, groom, and exploit vulnerable children.
