Trump’s Gaza plan faces global backlash and regional uncertainty

President Donald Trump’s proposal for the United States to control Gaza and build a “Riviera of the Middle East” after relocating Palestinians to other areas has crashed US policy on the Israeli-Palestinian dispute, attracting widespread denunciation.

The scare action from Trump, a retired New York property developer, pulled denunciations from Russia, China, the UK, France, and Germany, which stated it would bring further suffering and new hate. KSA denied the proposal completely.

Trump offered no specifics, revealing his recommendation while welcoming Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House. He stated he and his group had been examining the options with Egypt, Jordan, and other regional governments. Netanyahu did not elaborate on the proposal, except to praise Trump for trying a new course.

President Trump, in his foremost major Middle East policy statement, stated he visualized constructing a resort where international communities could live in peace after over 15 months of Israeli bombardment destroyed the small coastal enclave and slew more than 47,000 individuals.

It was not obvious whether Trump would proceed with his controversial plan or simply take an intense standing as a bargaining technique. Trump stated that he intends to visit Gaza, Israel, and Saudi Arabia, but did not express when he will go.

Jordan’s King Abdullah voiced he vetoed any tries to annex land and displace Palestinians. Egypt stated it would help Gaza’s recovery programs without Palestinians fleeing the territory.

In Gaza, Palestinians residing among the destruction of their former houses expressed they would never consent to the plan. “Trump can go to hell, with his ideas, with his money, and with his beliefs. We are going nowhere. We are not some of his assets,” said one of the Gaza residents.

The informal proposal transmitted diplomatic ripples across the Middle East and around the world. World leaders expressed they continued to endorse the two-state solution that has created the basis of Washington’s approach in the area for decades. The scheme envisages that Gaza would be the region of a future Palestinian nation that includes the occupied West Bank.

During his first two weeks in office, Trump spoke regarding a US takeover of Greenland, cautioned of the potential seizure of the Panama Canal, and said that Canada should be the 51st US state. Some analysts have stated his expansionist rhetoric reflects old-style imperialism, indicating it could boost Russia in its fight in Ukraine and give China a reason for intruding into Taiwan.

According to a Hamas official, who has ruled the Gaza Strip since 2007, Trump’s proposal was “ridiculous and absurd”.
