Türkiye’s MIT Captures Key PKK Terrorists

The National Intelligence Organization (MIT) of Türkiye in collaboration with the Istanbul and Balıkesir police divisions, captured three PKK/KCK terrorists engaged in the organization’s Europe structure in a joint procedure. The three terrorists, who belong to the same lineage, were surveyed by MIT for a long time, Türkiye security sources stated.

According to the security establishment of Türkiye, Zeynep Taşkıran and Zübeyde Taşkıran, who were involved in Europe, were captured in Istanbul, while Hatın Şahbaz was apprehended in western Balıkesir province. The terrorists were apprehended by the judicial authorities, to which they were referred and sent to prison.

It was specified that Zeynep Taşkıran participated in movements against Türkiye in the organization’s French facility. Hatın Şahbaz, on the other side, took a stake in the organization’s propaganda, particularly in Germany’s Cologne and the French capital Paris. Zübeyde Taşkıran, who had been a member of the PKK/KCK’s rural cadre, altered her name after acquiring German citizenship and assisted her organizational actions under the name “Denise Taşkıran.” As a result of the three detentions, security forces gathered valuable information about the terrorist organization’s network in Europe.

The PKK’s exploitation of lawful gaps and insufficient policies in Europe has enabled it to compel militants and finance its actions. European countries, especially Belgium, have faced criticism for their sensed tolerance of PKK activities, including propaganda and recruitment actions in France, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands. Despite the PKK’s designation as a terrorist entity by the EU, there has been considerable criticism of European nations for their inaction.

Türkiye has consistently demanded its allies, including the U.S. and EU members, to improve their support in combating PKK terrorism. However, these requests have largely gone unanswered. The continued support of the U.S. for the PKK’s Syrian companions, the YPG, has been particularly aggressive. Critics claim that this support, intended to strengthen efforts against Daesh, assists in regional instability and indirectly helps PKK activities.

Though officially banned in the EU and individual member states, in practice, the terrorist PKK has been permitted to demonstrate, raise funds for its terror movement, and threaten or attack locals in European lands. In their actions in Europe, PKK sympathizers organize quickly, carry out forceful acts, and fight with security forces.
