The Tactics Institute for Security and Defense strongly condemns the recent Russian missile strike on civilian infrastructure in Kyiv, including the partial destruction of a children’s hospital. We urgently demand an immediate halt to these egregious acts of violence that endanger regional security and peace.
Moscow launched a brazen daytime aerial assault on cities across Ukraine, resulting in the deaths of at least 43 people, including children. The attack on Kyiv’s Okhmatdyt Hospital, Ukraine’s largest children’s medical centre, underscores the severity of the crisis. With two floors of the hospital demolished and essential medical units damaged, the safety of vulnerable patients was gravely compromised. This aggressive act exacerbates the already volatile situation in the region, threatening the stability and peace of not only Ukraine but the broader international community.
The Tactics Institute is deeply concerned about the violation of international laws and fundamental human rights resulting from these actions. The deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure, especially medical facilities, contravenes the Geneva Conventions and constitutes a war crime. The attack on Okhmatdyt Hospital, which provides critical care for children, including those with cancer and haematological diseases, is an abhorrent violation of these conventions.
We call on the international community to take immediate and decisive action to address this situation. Russia must cease all military operations against civilian targets in Ukraine.
The ongoing aggression by Russia poses a significant threat to international peace and security. Global leaders must unite to condemn these actions and work towards a resolution that upholds the principles of international law and human rights.
The Tactics Institute for Security and Defense urgently calls on Russia to halt its aggressive actions against Ukraine immediately. The protection of civilians and the preservation of regional stability must be the foremost priority.
