Israel deployed hundreds of soldiers, armoured vehicles, drones, and fighter jets in the region. It has resulted in the deaths of at least 18 Palestinians and scores of injuries. This military escalation raises grave concerns over the forced displacement of Palestinians.

Foreign Minister Israel Katz’s call for the evacuation of Palestinians from the northern West Bank signals a dangerous escalation. The term “evacuation,” often presented as a humanitarian necessity, may mask the intent to replicate the displacement and destruction that occurred in Gaza.  Israel’s military raids in the West Bank have amplified in recent years. It has the goal of crushing armed resistance movements fueled by widespread Palestinian anger over occupation, settler expansion, and the Israeli annexation of Palestinian properties, particularly in East Jerusalem. Collective punishment, including the demolition of infrastructure and homes, has become a frequent tool of the Israeli army during these raids.

The Tactics Institute urges the international community to condemn this escalation and call out the Israeli government’s actions, which violate international law. The displacement of over 1,200 Palestinians by Jewish settlers and the army’s destruction of over 3,000 homes amount to a policy of forced expulsion, a clear violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention.
