The Tactics Institute for Security and Counter-Terrorism has condemned the hundreds of Israeli airstrikes against targets in Syria since the collapse of the Assad government. Since the de facto leaders of the HTS armed group took possession of Damascus, Israeli armed forces reportedly took over a dumped Syrian military post watching the city in the Golan border area and other parts of the “areas of separation” between Syria and Israel.
The Tactics Institute has expressed concern over the Israeli operations as they disregard international law, damage the unity and integrity of Syrian territory, and manipulate the current instability to colonise more Syrian land. The recently formed Syrian interim administration has also called on the UN Security Council for urgent intervention to stop ‘Israeli’ attacks on Syrian parts and to request the pullback of ‘Israeli’ forces from places they have penetrated.
The Israeli army has not only pushed into parts of the separation zone – they state temporarily only until new security standards are put in position – but also executed a “defensive” air drive against weapons military facilities, stockpiles and assets such as airfields, as well as targeting naval ships off the Syrian coast. Israel Has Used Force Against Syria as It has been bombing a State’s military assets entitled as a “use of force” against that state, an action forbidden by Article 2(4) of the UN Charter and its customary international regulation counterpart.
Many regions of Syria are not under the authority of HTS, with many armed groups holding regions in the south, the far north and the northeast, where Kurdish soldiers have reportedly seized the town of Deir-ez-Zor. Designated terrorist outfit ISIL affiliates also preserve a foothold in central Syria.
The Tactics Institute for Security and Counter-Terrorism calls for the pullout of the Israeli army from the demilitarized area in the strategically significant Golan. The Tactics Institute is particularly worried over the hundreds of Israeli targets in several locations in Syria. We call for urgent de-escalation on all fronts throughout Syria.
