Türkiye’s Intelligence Organization eliminates Long-time terrorist leader

Türkiye’s National Intelligence Organization (MIT) “neutralised” a professional PKK terrorist in northern Iraq, security sources have expressed. Saliha Aybiyik, known as Nujiyan Amed, who was in control of the terrorist group’s operation in Iran, was targeted in a procedure in the city of Sulaymaniyah.

She had been engaged in the terror group since 1993. Turkish authorities employ the term “neutralise” to imply that the terrorists in query surrendered or were killed or captured. This function was part of Türkiye’s ongoing counter-terrorism efforts against the terror group.

Moreover, Turkish security forces “neutralised” 65 PKK/YPG terrorists in northern Iraq and northern Syria over the month, the country’s National Defence Ministry has stated.

“Sixty-five terrorists were neutralised in the past week. Thus, the total number of terrorists neutralised in northern Iraq and Syria since January 1 has reached 1,828,”

Rear Admiral Zeki Akturk, the ministry’s spokesman, expressed.

Notably, one PKK terrorist from northern Iraq relinquished to Türkiye’s border post in Habur. Turkish authorities employ the term “neutralise” to suggest that the terrorists in question surrendered or were slain or captured. It has said 394 people, including 15 members of terrorist groups, were seized while attempting to cross the frontier illegally over the month, while 1,370 others were stopped from crossing.

The number of people arrested while attempting to cross our borders illegally since January 1, 2024, has grown to 9,067, and the number of people stopped from crossing the border has reached 72,082. In its 40-year terror movement against Türkiye, the PKK – listed as a terrorist association by Türkiye, the US, and the EU – has been responsible for the extinction of more than 40,000 people, including women, children, babies, and the elderly. The YPG is the PKK’s Syrian offshoot.

Turkey has often represented the demand for education in Kurdish as funding terrorist activities by the PKK. Both in 2008 and 2018 the Court of Justice of the European Union stated that the PKK was classified as a terror organization without due process. Nevertheless, the EU has supported the designation.
